Facts about Hydra the moon of pluto

 Hydra is a natural satellite of Pluto, with a diameter of approximately 51km (32mi) across it's longest dimension. By distance it is the 5th and the outermost moon of the Pluto. The New Horizon spacecraft imaged Pluto and it's Moons in June 2005 and return multiple images of Hydra. The surface of Hydra displays a neutral spectrum. Hydra is not tidally locked and rotates chaotically.

1. Hydra is second largest moon of Pluto and is slightly larger than Nix.

2. Hydra was discovered by Pluto Companion See Team on June 15,2005.

3. Has reflective surface caused by the presence of water in the form of ice.

4. Hydra's brightness is about 5000 times fainter than Pluto.

5. Hydra is believed to have formed from two smaller objects merging into one single object.

6. The surface spectrum of Hydra is slightly bluish as compared to the other moons of Pluto.

7. Hydra rotates quickly as compared to the other moons of Pluto.
