Nix the natural satellite of Pluto facts

 Nix is the Natural Satellite of the Pluto, with a diameter of 49.8 km (30.9 mi) across it's longest dimension. Nix is the third moon of the Pluto by distance, orbiting between the moon Styx and Kerberos. Early research appeared to show that the surface of Nix is reddish in colour.

Facts about Nix - The Moon Of Pluto:-

1. It was discovered along with Pluto's outermost moon Hydra on 15th June 2005.

2. It is named Nyx( Nix) after Greek Goddess of the night.

3. Nix's brightest is about 5000 times fainter than Pluto.

4. It is formed because of massive collision between the Pluto and Kuipler belt objects.

5. Due to the Chaotic rotation of Nix, it can occasionally flip it's entire rotational axis.

6. The water present on the surface of Nix, is responsible for it's high reflectivity.

7. The age of Nix's surface is estimated to be at least four billion years old.
