The secret of wolf moon

Every months has special names to describe the full moon. The full moon is a time when full surface of moon can be seen. The full moon of January is called as Wolf moon. It is named after howling wolves. It is also known as old moon, ice moon, snow moon and moon after yule.

It is known as Wolf moon because wolves tend to howl more often in winter.

Is is symbolized as time right after the winter solstice representing new beginnings and conquering of light over darkness as the days go longer.

It last for 4 hours. This happens when moon moves into Earth penumbra or the outer shadow. This causes the moon to look darker than normal.

Native Americans of ancient time called this moon as Wolf moon because wolves howel more this time of the year because there was less food.
